Anomaly Scan

 Anomaly

The purpose of this 2D diagnostic ultrasound scan is to perform a very detailed examination of the baby's anatomy to include, but not limited to, the head, spine, heart and kidneys. These ultrasound scans also allows for the detection of problems such as cleft palate. The placenta will also be checked for position and the fluid surrounding the baby is also checked.

During the Anomaly scanning, there will be plenty of time for the patient to ask questions about their baby's scan and on the rare occasion an abnormality or problem is detected the sonographer will explain the findings and with your consent liaise with your obstetrician or midwife to arrange further follow-up.

This scan is done in a comfortable, stress-free environment, displayed in wide screen for all to see and in low level lighting to make viewing much more comfortable.

This scan includes a full Anomaly Scan report, 2 x A6 2D photos from a medical printer renowned for its quality and high definition complete with Babes in the Womb photo holder and the sexing of your baby if requested.

Our Edinburgh or Stirling clinics are open 7 days including weekends and evenings.
